Been on hormones for 15 years, am MTF transgender , what what are the out of pocket expenses

I’ve been on hormone therapy for nearly 15 yrs. I’m a nurse and live and work as a female. My name was legally changed 8 yrs ago.
Specific_Questions: I received the two required letters a few years ago but ran into a financial set back. Are those letters still good or do I need to start the process over. How long will I need to be in Miami for Male to Female Vaginoplasty. How long will I have to be off work. Other than the 13500 for the surgery, what other expenses might I incur while in Miami.  Alexis

Dear Alexis,

We have been doing male to female surgery since 2003 and before and after photos can be seen on our web-site  Gender reassignment surgery has become the specialty of our house.  Unless you have any renewed psychological issues or ambivalence about your having transgender surgery, your therapy letters are good.  As a rule you can return to an office environment in 3 weeks.  You will need to sit on a ring pillow for a total of 6 weeks.

The price you are quoting is from few years ago, however the good news is Anne, our office manager has been given my full encouragement to make sweetheart offers to serious well motivated patients who wish to be done sooner rather than later.  In fact any price quote is only good for 2 weeks to be confirmed by a 50% non-refundable deposit following your consultation with the office.  This can be initiated by phone and our one time fee is 250 which includes opening a chart, reviewing your lab work, therapy letters, and your first visit as well to the office.

We recommend that Daddy O Hotel, one block from our office, and I make rounds there daily. 2 can stay in the room for the price of one, and there’s a free breakfast table and Starbucks coffee is served round the clock.  You will need to allow out of pocket expenses for travel, food, medications, a house coat to be worn when you’re kin the hotel lobby, bed protectors, anti-embolism stockings, and a ring pillow.  Aside fro travel this could be an extra 250.  We can five you the antibiotics free of charge.

So the biggest saving is what you and Anne negotiate.  We have patients calling back 2 or 3 years later and they say “remember, you said you’d do the operation for so and so.  Well, honestly we don’t remember window shoppers.  If you are for real, we’ll post that in a book, which kept for a month or so.

Hope this all makes sense and sounds fair,
