Vaginal stenosis, loss of depth
November 20, 2010
I had SRS in 2001. I have vaginal stenosis – preventing me from meaningful intimacy.
I am sexually active with my boyfriend, but it’s extremely painful.
I was reading on your website about your suburethral approach procedure without grafts.
Can you please provide me with more information?
I also would like to schedule an in-person consultation with you. I live in Miami.
Is the grant still open for that last spot for 2010?
Thank you.
Samantha,
Good morning Samantha,
Thank you for your interest in what we do.
Hope the attached is helpful in some respects.
Yes, we have done about 8 cases thus far (including one this past week) and knock wood
all patients so far are doing well with the new procedure. The mechanics of making the
space in an area that’s already been visited before with more fibrosis is understood.
Our procedure differs in that the space is not lined with a graft, but rather skin is allowed
to grow in, as it does in many instances where grafts fail, or small tears occur during
sexual trauma or dilation.
The one Grant space available vacated by a patient with anorexia nervosa is not
applicable to a redo. Sorry.
Your procedure however should be affordable at 7,500 which includes surgery,
use of the facility, anesthesia and many follow up visits at our office after surgery.
Have a restful weekend,
