Casandra poses MTF questions especially regarding colonic vagina

July 4, 2012

Hi Dr. Reed ,

My name is Casandra and I am a MTF pre-op  looking for options. I am currently on Social Security Disability.

I am in fairly good shape and above age 40. No major health issues but I do have epilepcie, my Dr can ok The operation if need be. I have the therapists and have meet the credentials but 1 live a full yr as a female.

That being said I do not have much money and will take some time to save up for it. My insurance may cover  Part or most of the operation I do not know yet and have not inquired. I am wanting to know about the procedure, since I am concerned with “Look” will it look just like a vagina on a female? Also I have heard that you can use part of the Colin. I am also asking if it will self lubricate? Or if there is a way to do it. I am wanting the closet possible treatment for a vaginas actual look and feel.

I do have a couple of questions

1. Will my insurance cover any part or whole amount of the surgery?
2. Will my vagina act and feel normal?
3. Are there potentials for after surgery complications…. I have this vision in my head that it will start to fall out. Lol.

Well I have many more questions but the most stressing question is price? I have read on your forums that you have given people grants and the such and a mention of $6000 off plus another 10% or so.

I would like a complete detailed price list from you as well.

Thank you for your Time,
Casandra

Good morning Casandra,

Thank you for your interest in what we do.
Please realize there are many out of pocket expenses associated with surgery such as travel for you and your companion,  renting a hotel room for 9 to 10 days at either the Baltic or Daddy O’s, medications, anti-embolism stockings, disposable bed protectors,
vaginal stents (that alone is 500), ground transportation, etc.

Taking your thoughtful questions in the order posed…

1. Will my insurance cover any part or whole amount of the surgery?
Ask them.  We do not accept insurance directly but will fill out a universal insurance form for maximal reimbursement to you under the provisions of your policy.

2. Will my vagina act and feel normal?
If by normal, like a natal female vagina in all respects, no.  However, there will be enough similarity that you should be a “turn-on.”

3. Are there potentials for after surgery complications….  I have this vision in my head that it will start to fall out. Lol.
Please read the attached and our informed consent posted on our web-site.  You may also wish to consider other resources.

After reading the attached, if you believe I am the doctor for you, please initiate a consultation over the phone with our office  by sending us your name, address, and telephone number in an envelope along with a check for 250.  We’ll get started ASAP.  We’ll have a lot to talk about, and we’ll go into your questions and concerns in great detail.

This year we are re-vitalizing our Grant with a slogan similar to one a few years ago (“the first 10 in 2010″), now it is “the first 12 in 2012.”   This should reduce your fees  by 10 to 20%, based upon need and availability of funds.   So far 3 positions have been filled this month.

Call the office and speak with Anne our amiable office  manager for details.  She is the brains behind pa and the maker of deals.

Cordially,

Harold M. Reed
