Camel toe after MTF Transsexual Vaginoplasty

Dear Dr. Reed,  Had a Transgender vaginoplasty (MTF) about 2 years ago.  When standing I see a camel toe appearance to my labia.  That is the crease comes up too high in the lower pubs.  Can this be corrected?

Myra

Dear Myra,

The camel toe appearance is caused by the anterior commissure, upper closure of the labia being up too high.  This is fairly easy to correct.  Please check and see if your clitoris is where you want it to be and if it is hooded.  All this can be easily done at one time.  You will have a vertical midline incision where the skin is approximated, but if you leave steri-strips on for a total of 4 weeks or so.  Chances are, the closure will be fairly imperceptible.  A female anatomy is more under the pelvis than in front.  Bye-bye camel toe.
