After male to female sex change vaginoplasty, will I be wet down there?

Dr. Reed, After male to female sex change vaginoplasty, will I be wet down there?  Veronica

Dear Veronica,

Vaginal moisture, wetness, or lubrication occurs in a natal female only when they are aroused.  That’s why doctors put jelly on their speculums.  That’s why they put jelly on a gloved finger when doing a rectal.  Please don’t thinks the answer is a colonic vagina.

Most of our patients who have had male to female vaginoplasty are moist.  This may have to be supplemented with oral sex, some KY jelly, or foreplay to simulate arousal.  So called pre-cum from either the trans patient or her partner also helps.  Love finds a way. The use of vaginal estrogen creams may be helpful as they promote capillary dilation. “Our” vulvar plates are fashioned from everted urethra which makes mucus.

A natal female produces lubrication not from sex glands but by elaborating a transudate or serum like secretion when the capillary bed becomes more porous or “leaks.”  This liquid is very slippery.  Please look at before and after male to female sex change pictures on our web-site srsMiami.com
