Had an orchiectomy and now wish scrotal removal

Dr. Reed,

I am a 57 yr young male who has had bilateral orchiectomy approximately three years ago. I wish to have all the scrotum excess skin removed. I am mot seeking srs and for cosmetic appearance i wish to have this performed. Is this possible? If i may ask how the procedure is handled and about the cost? I wish not to seek srs at any time just want to have a better appearance.

Thank you Allen

Good afternoon Allen,

Yes, we do scrotal removal for patients such as yourself. 2 letters of therapy clearance are required (which you may already have) as this is irreversible surgery.

Photos of patients with scrotal removal are on our web-site

The surgery is usually done on an outpatient basis. A letter of medical clearance with reference to an EKG is also needed as well as surgical lab, CBC with platelet count, PT and PTT. We typically would ask that you initiate a consultation over the phone (fee 250) and be seen the day before surgery (the zero day) and stay at Daddy O Hotel (one block away) for 2 days before laving.

Bed rest is very important to ensure good wound healing. Surgical fee to include local anesthesia with IV conscious sedation (you’ll be awake), use of the facility and any followup care we provide 2,500.

Have a restful weekend,
Harold M. Reed, M.D,.
