How soon after my transgender Vaginoplasty can I have a vaginoplasty revision

Dr. Reed, Had a transgender vaginoplasty with another doctor and believe I need a touch up.  I seem to be voiding upwards, and my labia are very loose, left side seems larger than the right especially when standing. Cecilia

Dear Cecilia,

Please wait a good 4 months before have any vaginoplasty revision done as tissues need time to optimally heal.  Occasionally results may improve somewhat with time also. The upward urinary trajectory is something we see frequently as the urethral opening needs to be below the pubic bone.  If the pubic skin is not released sufficiency for penile skin vaginal inversion, it will tend to pull up and bring with it all structures attached including the urethral opening and clitoris.

When you are seen in consultation please bring our work list to which we may add some recommendations.  You will need to be off roentgens for one month before surgery. Please look at our before and after picture of male to female sex change surgery and also vaginoplasty revisions we have done.  srsMiami.com
