Dear Dr. Reed, Am seeking a sex change orchiectomy with minimal sedation and anesthesia. The reason is I don’t like the anesthetic effect. Have had a few dental surgery procedures without anesthesia and I do fine. Mind over manner.
Yes, we can do your orchiectomy that way, but just to be prudent I would recommend we start an IV line and have sedation and IV narcotics ready in case you rethink this. There is no need to suffer when we can be so caring for your comfort level. Let’s start out with a numbing cream and see how you do. You’ll be on monitors, so if we see a blood pressure spike or a rapid pulse we know you feel it.
