Orchiectomy for SRS patients

Dear Dr. Reed,  I have been living as a woman for 3 years and while I cannot afford full vaginoplasty would like to book an orchiectomy with your office as you have done 3 of my friends.  Any availabilties for this February?  What about hormones?    Do you know the procedure code for bilaterla orchiectomy?   Arielle

Dear Arielle,

Yes we have availability for orchiectomy this February, although the calender is starting to fill in.  Please be sure to have your 2 therapy letters of clearance, one written by a therapist with a doctoral degree, the other needs also a licensed therapist but does not have to have necessarily a doctoral degree.  You do need to initiate a consultation over the phone so we can obtain your medical history, height, weight, etc.

As a rule, post orchiectomy you can reduce you estrogens by about a third.  Please do not take any hormones for a good month before surgery as they are coagulopathic, can promote unwanted blood clots such as a DVT or pulmonary embolism or coronary or cerebral event.  Also stop spironolactone (if on that) for 2 weeks before surgery.  Thank you for visiting our web-site and seeing before and after photos  The procedure code you are looking for is 54520-50

Cordially and Happy Year,
