Dear Dr. Reed,
Heard you had transsexual vaginoplasty promotion called the first 16 on 2016. Will you be doing something similar this year? Affordable vaginoplasty? Saw your transgender before and after photos on srsMiami.com Have been living as a woman for 6 years and believe me, I’m ready. Are you doing one or 2 stage surgery? Any special requirements? I live in Bradenton, Florida
We have always been mindful that these are challenging economic times and for that reason, if you are medically and psychologically qualified to undergo transgender surgery, then call the office. Think the first 17 in 2017. So far we have about 10 patients booked. Speak with Anne. She will give you some idea. Please bear in mind any promotional offer has to be preceded by a consultation. We’ll be happy to E-mail you gratis lots of information.
In a word, you need 2 letters of therapy clearance, one written by a therapist with a doctoral degree. I am not saying you need therapy especially if you have been living as a woman for 6 years and have no emotional problems. We also expect that you have reasonably good height weight conformation. You can refer to the National Health web-site www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/BMI/bmicalc.htm Your BMI should be for surgical purposes between about 23 and 29. This means mid normal range to upper limits of overweight. Very thin or obese patients do not heal well. If you have a history of cardiovascular ;problems such as hypertension, you’ll need a letter of medical clearance possibly with reference to a stress EKG, but do not pursue that now.
We will attempt to do one stage vaginoplasty MTF surgery. You may require a touch up however. Dilation 3 times a day for 15 to 20 minutes indefinitely;y is needed to maintain and build upon what we accomplished in the operating room. Hoping this gets you off to a good start,
Harold M. Reed, M.D.
